ITF Scotland Affiliation Details And Procedure for ITF Scotland Membership.
You will find below the procedure to follow to apply for membership as an Association. Please make sure that your letter of application includes all the requested information to allow a proper review of your application.
1.The application for membership shall consist of:
A letter of application for membership including:
- a)information about the history, structure, membership (including number of schools and/or individual members) and main accomplishments of the association;
- b)reasons for joining or rejoining ITF and
- c)in the event of an expulsion from the ITF, reasons for the expulsion and reasons as to why the ITF should consider the application for re-admission.
2.Supporting materials including
- a)a copy of the registration as an association (the association should be duly registered as an association in its country before applying for membership).
- b)a copy of the statutes, by-laws, rules or regulations used to govern the association;
- c)three letters of reference/recommendation (these letters may come from a National Member or an Allied National Member or any other bodies).
3.A complete list of all Black Belt holders.
Identifying who was promoted to what rank and certificate date and numbers, who came from what organization since departure or expulsion from the ITF (please note that this information will be sent to the ITF who will decide about whether or not to recognize these promotions and, if appropriate, the conditions under which they may be recognized).
4.Certificates required.
- a)all instructors should undergo an advanced police check with a company chosen by ITF Scotland.
- b)submit a valid first aid certificate.
- c)valid instructors Insurance.
- d)Instructors certificate Numbers.
5. Allied Associations
To apply for recognition as an AA, a group must have at least five schools or at least 20 holders of Black Belt Decrees. An Allied National Association:
- a) must practice Taekwon-Do as taught by the founder of TKD, General Choi Hong Hi, and act in accordance with the ITF Constitution, By-Laws, policies, standards, and regulations
- b) must not be a member of any international Taekwon-Do body other than ITF
- c) must be a legally-registered democratic organization, structured in harmony with the ITF Constitution
- d) must be headed by a person holding at least a 4th Degree Black Belt membership, certified by ITF
- e) must ensure that all Black Belts, teaching members, and examiners have official ITF certification
- f) may issue national Black Belt Certificates, checking with ITF before doing so to make sure that the candidate has a valid ITF Black Belt Certificate for that degree; the ITF Black Belt Certificate number must appear on the national Black Belt Certificate
- g) must coordinate with the National Association to submit names of individuals and/or teams for Continental and World Championships
- h) must ensure that only those authorized by ITF are involved in the manufacture, distribution, and sale of doboks, equipment, badges, and other items bearing the logo and/or the name of ITF
- i) must make a report to the Board of Directors in the first month of each calendar year (on the forms provided)
- j) must collect membership fees and remit appropriate amounts to ITF
All the above will checked through the relevant authorities. On completion of the application candidates will be required to purchase all relevant ITF certificate and the annual ITF teaching plaque. Non compliance of the above will deem the membership application null and void.
